My Tirzepatide Hair Loss Story — And How I Got My Hair Back

My Hair Loss & Hair Gain Journey: What Actually Worked for Me

If you told me a few years ago that I’d be casually mixing peptides, vitamins, red light, mesotherapy, and scalp injections like some kind of DIY hair-science pharmacist… I’d probably believe you. But I wouldn’t have believed how wild the journey would get.

This is the story of how my hair thinned, how I spiraled, and how I slowly brought my hairline — especially my temples — back to life.

Where It Started: The Panic Era

My hair loss didn’t hit suddenly. It crept up quietly… until one day I caught the wrong angle in a photo and almost passed away.

Here’s what stacked against me all at once:

What I Did to Actually Regrow My Hair

No fluff. No influencer tricks. Just what worked for me.

1. Oral Minoxidil: The Silent Hero

I started oral minoxidil on February 16, 2025, and I wish I’d done it sooner.

What it did:

  • Reduced shedding within weeks

  • Gave me thicker ponytail density

  • Kick-started baby hairs at my temples

  • Improved overall coverage

My dose:

Started at 0.625 mg, then adjusted with my prescriber.

2. Spironolactone: Hormonal Support

Because hormones play a huge role in how my hair behaves, spironolactone helped stabilize everything.

What it improved:

  • Slowed down miniaturization

  • Reduced hormonal shedding

  • Helped prevent future thinning

  • BONUS: fewer hormonal breakouts

Dose:

12.5 mg for the first week → increased to 25 mg.
